Providing creative outlets and opportunity

Dean has been working with wood ever since he was a child growing up on a farm. “In the true farm spirit if we didn’t have it we built it, including our house.” Dean started off learning from his father when he was very young. Other inspirations have included Norm Abram and other YouTubers.

His main drive for woodworking is the creative outlet it provides and the opportunity to try new things. He loves working on projects with traditional woodworking joinery, such as dovetails, mortise and tenon joinery, etc. His vision for Sawdust has encouraged those who participate in the classes he leads.
